Pregnancy Weekly - 31 weeks!

This is day number 217 and you're 31 weeks pregnant!
You have 63 days or 9 weeks left, and are 77.5% of the way there

------------------------

Your baby now weighs approximately 3.5 pounds, measures about 18 inches from head to toe, and is getting used to the world of light and dark by opening and closing its eyes. Its facial muscles continue to strengthen, and your baby can make different expressions.

Pregnancy Weekly - 29 weeks!

This is day number 202 and you're 29 weeks pregnant!
You have 78 days or 11 weeks left, and are 72.5% of the way there.

-------------------------------------------

Your baby is now about 16.7 inches from head to toe, and weighs about 2.7 pounds. He or she continues to be active and grow; however, you may be feeling fewer kicks and punches. This is because even though your baby is getting larger and stronger, he or she also has less space in which to gain momentum for these movements. Your baby's blood is now being produced from the stem cells in its bone marrow.

Pregnancy Weekly - 28 weeks!

This is day number 194 and you're 28 weeks pregnant!
You have 86 days or 12 weeks left, and are 70.0% of the way there.

---------------------------------

Your baby weighs approximately 2.4 pounds and is about 10 inches from crown to rump, or a little under 16 inches from head to toe. He or she has been gaining weight steadily during the past 27 weeks as its stem cells develop into organs, blood and immune systems, and bones. However, from this point forward, your baby's weight gain will be due to increasing amounts of body fat. A quick way to predict your baby's birth weight is to average your partner’s and your birth weights.

Week 18 - OB visit this morning

Well, I'm sorry .. but no finding out what we're having today .. Can you believe that it's just 11am and I'm BACK home from my OB visit??? My appointment was for 10:30am .. I was "checking" out at 10:30am! I still can't believe it.

We got to the office at 10:10am ... there was just one other person in the waiting room ... they called me in no more than 5-10 minutes after I walked into the office ... did the weight/blood pressure/urine thing .. evertyhing seemed to be fine (didn't ask about the weight - I try and avoid that one - blood pressure was fine) ... went into second waiting room ... went to get a drink maybe 2 minutes after we went in there and the nurse was already coming to get me .. so we went into the room .. and no more than 5 minues later the OB came in ... we talked a few minutes .. he checked for the heartbeats .. heard both .. and that was it ... back in another 4 weeks!

I guess we wait until April 11th!

This is day number 118 and you're 17 weeks pregnant!
You have 162 days or 23 weeks left, and are 42.5% of the way there.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Your baby is approximately 4.8 inches long and weighs about 3.5 ounces, and he or she should weigh more than the placenta from this point on. Since your baby's hearing has become more finely tuned, he or she may respond to loud noises and you may feel movement at the sound of large trucks passing or a slamming door. Epidermal (skin) and fatty tissue are developing all over your baby's body to protect it after it is born and a substance called vernix is beginning to form on the skin tissue to protect it from the long exposure to amniotic fluid.

Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.

Take the quiz

* My sister has a set of twins. They were the first grandkids for my parents. They will be turning 18 this summer and graduating high school this year. WOW! I was 15 years old when they were born.

* My grandmother (dad's mom) had 2 sets of twins. Her first set (2 girls, if I remember correctly), one died at birth. She then had a second set (2 boys).

* My mom's sister has a set of twins. (boy/girl I think)

* My mom's uncle has a set of twins. (boy/girl I think)

So, as you can see, twins run on my side of the family - both my dad's side and my mom's side. So, there was always the CHANCE that we would get pregnant with twins .. but we always thought "Oh, it won't happen to us" .. and here we are. Obviously God has a plan for us ... and this is just part of it!

Children are definitely a blessing ...

For the last couple of weeks .. I've had this "feeling" of having to tell people we were having twins but deep down I was hoping that it would not come to that .. not sure why ... but that is just how it is .. so I guess I was more anxious about this first U/S than I thought. We went in for my OB visit yesterday morning (was scheduled for 9:15am) ... to find out that the OB I was supposed to see what in the hospital (he was performing a c-section delivery) .. which was fine .. they took me to do the regular weight/pressure thing and then sent me off to the back waiting room. Here, they came me and asked me if I wanted to just go ahead and do the U/S while I waited (since this OB usually does the U/S first before seeing the patient). I thought that was cool (we were looking forward to seeing the baby and hearing the hearbeat) ...

We went into the room and got ready for the U/S. Nurse came in and we started ... she had no problems finding the baby (remember, at this point there is just ONE! LOL)... but then she moved the wand to get a better/clearer picture. The first one went away and the 2nd one showed up ... at first I did not see/think anything about it ... I just figured it was the same baby .. just from a different angle. But, it started to click in with me when she started going back and forth from one picture to the other .. and that is when I "KNEW" that there were two in there... My hand went up to my mouth and I just about started to cry! (but I didn't) ...

At this point, she looks at us and asked "Are you ready for some news?" and I was like "No!" This is when she was able to get BOTH babies up on the screen at the same time .. and that is when she said "There's 2 in there!" ... Jason's first response "Oh my!" ... and I was like "That is what I thought I was seeing" ... then she measured the first one and foudn the heartbeat (I didn't even think of asking what the rate was) .. and then she measured the second one and found it's heartbeat (again, didn't ask the rate) .. we of course got copies of the U/S ... and went again to wait for the doctor to get there. First I saw Dr. Harisson at the desk when I got out of the room and I *HAD* to show him the U/S picture .. he was excited!

In the waiting room we shared the news with some of the ladies that were in there that we had been talking to earlier (one of those waiting as well to see the same OB as me) ... TOTAL shock had set in by now!

So, we finally got to see the OB and he asked us to join him in his office .. and shared a lot of things that go with being pregnant with twins (good and bad) ... and of course, the fact that I'm now considered high risk!

From there we headed home. Jason called his mom to tell her while we were in the waiting room ... she was at the Senior Center doing aerobics or something like that ... and just about yelled out "We're having TWINS!" to everyone around her ... I think she was excited! I then called my mom on the drive home. She thought that I was lying to her ... That does not surprise me one bit .. but I finally convinced her that it was the truth!!! I then called my SIL .. she about freaked and also did not believe me .. UNTIL she pulled up beside us (while we were in the McDs drive-thru) to see the U/S picture (she was already on the road nearby and just couldn't help it).

Joseph was with us when we found out .. he doesn't seem think much about it ... other than we're having 2 babies .. and he wants to know if it's 2 boys (which he would name them both Joseph) .. or 2 girls or one of each.

I told Stephanie when she got home from school. A great big smile came on her face and she seemed really excited when she asked "We're having 2 babies???" .. she had me print out a picture of the U/S this morning so she could bring it to school with her to show everyone! She thought we were keeping it a secret so she was excited that she could tell people!

I'm still in complete shock but it's starting to settle and I'm starting to get excited more about it .. especially with all the support and encouragement that we've recived from family and friends! It's been amazing and such a blessing!!

If you've read this far... WOW I'm impressed. Thank you!!! Hope that you enjoyed it .. and I'm sure there will be more posts like this to come!!!

We saw "Annie"!

Copied over from MySpace!

My friend Lisa showed up a little after 4pm yesterday afternoon to pick up Stephanie and I ... of course, we had to take pictures of the girls before we left! :) And then we headed towards Atlanta. We got there in plenty of time (we had decided to eat out before the show) .. we picked this little resturant that was in walking distance to The Fox. We could park the van, go eat and then just walk to the theatre. The restaurant was called the "Browadway Grill" ... they serve pretty much everything that you want and it's open 24 hours! The girls ended up picking pancakes off the menu :lol

Well, what a surprise .. as we were sitting there, the manager came over and asked how things were going .. and asked the girls if they were going to see Annie at the Fox. They of course said yes .. and he leaned over and said "You know, she's here right now" .. just a few feet away from us was a table with several grown-ups and about 6-7 girls. All of them, the girls from the show! How cool is that??? we sat there and waited for our food. After a little bit .. a waitress came over and asked the girls if they wanted to go over and meet "Annie" ... they were both excited about that .. but Stephanie was a little nervous. It was just too cute. So, yes, they got to meet "Annie" and the other "orphans" ... silly me didn't get the nerves to ask if we could take a picture! Go figure! They talked with Stephanie and Alexa for a few minutes, asking them a whole bunch of questions ... they were awesome!! :)

After about 5 minutes, I told the girls we needed to go eat (our food had come by this time) so we said "bye" and went back to our seat. When the girls left to go back to the Fox they waved the Stephanie and Alexa. :wub

Also, as we were sitting there .. in walked Mackenzie Phillips (for those who might not know, she was one of the girls on the show "One Day At A Time"). She plays "Rooster's" girlfriend in the show! That was so cool too!!!! All in all, it was an AWESOME choice for supper!!!! :woohoo

We then headed over to theatre. Took some more pictures ... got a program and snacks .. and then off to find our seats! We had pretty good seats. Too bad we couldn't take pictures inside! :sigh

The show was AWESOME. The girls in the show were amazing!! :wow Marissa (the one playing Annie) can sing!!!!!! :wow The notes coming out of the 11 year old were unbelievable!

Towards the end, Stephanie was leaning on me and I could feel her head nodding off .. she was SO tired!! It was so past her bedtime ... but she still got to see the end, I made sure of that!! :giggle

We got the girls some shirts and then we headed home as it was after 10:30pm by the time we got to the van.

We had such a wonderful time ... here is the link to my website, where I posted pics...

http://www.piczo.com/yviebear?g=22729051&cr=1

Hope that you enjoy!!! :)

YAY!! Today is when we are going to see Annie at The Fox. I can't wait! Today I have lots to get done so I hope that I will be motivated!!

Things to get done:

* Laundry
* pick out clothes to wear tonight
* figure out what Jason and Joseph will have for supper
* pick up the living room and vaccum
* send Jason to the bank when he gets home from work (at lunchtime today)
* take a shower
* play with Joseph :)

Nothing much is new or going on here. Still keeping an eye on $$ and trying to get through until tomorrow. :) So far, so good. Joseph's been coughing the last couple of days and today seems to be worse. I hope that he will be ok by Saturday. We are supposed to be heading up to Scaly Mountain, NC to do some snow tubbing with some other people from the church ... if he's not feeling well, I'll just send Jason with Stephanie and I'll stay home with him. I would hate for him and I to miss it ... but id he's sick ... can't help it. Of course, I won't be tubbing, which sucks .. but I would rather not risk it. You just never know! :)

Tuesday is my first OB visit and I'm REALLY looking forward to that .. FINALLY! I've waited just about a month for this and it hasn't been the easiest thing to do! I can't wait to see the ultrasound. Since it's a morning appointment, Joseph will be with us ... so he'll get to see that (Stephanie will be in school). I think I'll schedule a late afternoon appointment when it comes time to "find out" what we're having so that both Stephanie and Joseph can be there. Definitely want to find that out as a family! So far I haven't been feeling to bad. I've had some moments of not feeling the greatest .. but overall it hasn't been too bad. Thankfully. I've of course been tired .. and sore .. but again, that is normal and I just have to deal with it.

My mom called yesterday to let me know that my great uncle Bernard passed away. This was something we were expecting .. but it's still not easy .. of course, he was 91 years old and we honestly did not think that he would live long after my aunt died back in 1996 .. so yes, almost 10 years later! WOW! I don't know any of the arrangements right now .. but I'm sure that she will call me sometime today or tomorrow to let me know. I should probably get a card and send it to the family and let them know that I am thinking of them ... it's a BIG family. Aunt and Uncle had 18 children :)

I guess that is about it for now .. this is probably longer than anyone ever wanted to read .. and if you got this far, I'm impressed!! :) Hope that you all have a most wonderful and blessed day!

Hump Day ...

WOW .. it's Wednesday already. How did that happen? I just got Stephanie on the bus and Joseph is still sleeping so I thought that I would try and post an update on what all is going on with us. Stephanie is still loving school, which I think is great. I hope that she continues to like it! She is now starting to read a lot ... I try to get her to at least "try" when she asks me what words are .. and she usually gets them pretty quickly. :) I'm so proud of her.

Joseph is the typical 4 year old boy. Loves to play with his trains still ... and is now learning a lot more with computer games! I'm so proud of him as well. I'm currently debating on preschool for the fall for him ... but not so sure. We didn't put Stephanie in preschool and I don't know about Joseph. I'll think about it some more.

Tomorrow afternoon/evening Stephanie and I have a date along with my friend Lisa and her daughter Alexa. We are taking them to Atlanta to eat out and then to see "Annie" at The Fox. We are going to dress up nicely and just have a girl's night out. We are all looking forward to it. It opens tonight and through Publix we were able to get the tickets for 1/2 off! YAY! We have not too bad seats as well. YAY! I'm sure that we'll take lots of pictures and I'll post about it.

I've been stressing over finances lately and I know that I should just let it go ... but I'm having a difficult time with it ... so, if you would, please say a prayer for me ... I know that God is in control and that He will provide ... Thanks!

I guess that is about it for now. Hope that everyone is doing well ...<3 you all!

Update ...

This is day number 62 and you're 9 weeks pregnant!
You have 218 days or 31 weeks left, and are 22.5% of the way there.

Your baby is about one inch from crown to rump - or roughly the size of a strawberry. Weighing in at one gram, your baby is very active, although you can't feel its movements yet. He or she now has all the major organs, muscles, and nerves; and a Doppler may be able to identify the heartbeat. While his or her testes or ovaries are formed, the external genitalia still appear sexless, which is why it is too early for an ultrasound to reveal its gender. Eyelids are beginning to form and the trunk is straightening and elongating, cartilage and bones are forming, the basic structures of the eyes are in place, and the tongue is beginning to develop. The fingers and thumb are visible, albeit short and webbed.

---------------------

So far I haven't felt too bad, thankfully ... I've been sore (but that is normal) .. and I've been tired .. but I haven't been sick so I guess I don't have much to complain about! Just one more week to go and we'll be going in for my first OB visit. I'm looking forward to the Ultrasound ... pray that there is just one in there ;)

WOW!

This is day number 57 and you're 8 weeks pregnant!
You have 223 days or 32 weeks left, and are 20.0% of the way there.
Baby's age since conception is 43 days or 6 weeks. You are due on 8/29/2006.

-----------------------------------

Your baby’s fluttering heart would show up on an ultrasound performed this week. He or she is between 0.56 and 0.8 inches from crown to rump - or about the size of a grape - its liver is churning out large amounts of red blood cells, and will continue to until the bone marrow forms and takes over this function. Week eight marks the beginning of a very busy developmental stage: its face continues to change as the ears, eyes and the tip of the nose appear; the intestines start to form in the umbilical cord; and your baby's teeth begin to develop under the gums.
